POSITION: Hebrew School Teacher 

Society Hill Synagogue is seeking Hebrew School teachers for multiple classes between PreK-7th Grade. Our teachers are dynamic Jewish educators excited about helping to inspire a new generation of Jewish learners. 
Our Ann Spak Thal Hebrew School grounds students’ experiences in Jewish text, tradition, and community. Our vibrant school immerses children and adolescents in the rhythms of Jewish life, empowering them to forge their own authentic relationships with Judaism. We aim to help students see the Jewish community as a lifelong source of nourishment and strength while fostering a sense of responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture, customs, traditions, history, and Torah.
  • Strong Hebrew reading skills and comfort with a Siddur. Hebrew fluency is not a requirement.
  • Experience teaching in a Hebrew School, Jewish camp, or youth group is preferred, but not required. We are a dedicated group of  teachers who like to help each other!
  • A collaborative work style and ability to work as a team member.
  • All staff at our school are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Schedule:
  • Saturdays 9:15 am-12:00 pm and/or Tuesdays 4:00 pm-6:15 pm.
  • September through May.
Compensation:
  • $36/hour and up, commensurate with experience and education.
